Long Dong- The Dragon Cave

Long Dong is a stretch of cliffs in the north east of Taiwan facing the Pacific ocean. It is also referred as Taiwan¡¦s premiere outdoor climbing area because of the high friction and density of the sandstone cliffs. In addition, both advanced climbers and beginners can be kept endlessly entertained since there are various difficulty degrees . The wonderful landscape with the sapphire blue ocean water and extraordinary rock formations complement the unique climbing experience.

We offer a tour as following

9:00 Meet-up
9:30 warm-up, security check, explaining the usage of the equipment
10:00 rock climbing (height of cliff: 9 m, 5.4 and 5.7 are two routes with different difficulty degrees)
11:00 rock rappelling/(abseiling?)
12:00 Lunch
13:00 rock climbing (height of cliff: 25 m)
15:00 end of the tour

Fees: 1200NTD per person, min. of 6 participants form a group (including 1 000 000NTD accident insurance+100 000NTD for medical treatment, professional guides, climbing helmets, MADROCK FLASH climbing shoes, carabiners/snap hooks, safety harnesses, climbing ropes). When there are above 10 registered participants there will be price reduction. These fees exclude transportations, we kindly ask you to arrange the transport to the meet-up spot by yourself, but in case of any difficulties or problems, feel free to contact us by phone or mail.

     

 

River trekking/canyoning

River trekking/canyoning in Taipei: The Nan Shi River

Tour name: Nan Shi River trek- fitting for people who do not frequently exercise

Introduction: The 45km long Nan Shi River flows through the north east of Taiwan, also New Taipei City. The part of the river in our trek remained unpolluted and is still populated by various kind of fish. The emerald green water, beautiful cascading waterfalls and the impressive landscape are something you should not miss!

Length of the tour: one day

e offer a tour as following:

08:00 Meet-up at the Taipei MRT station Xindian (there will still be a one hour drive into the mountains, since the water near Xindian is not as clean)
09:00 Arrival at the Wu Fu checkpoint (application for a mountain permit)
9:10 Arrival at starting point of river trekking
09:30 explanation of safety precautions, safety check, warm-up exercise, introduction in some river trekking techniques
09:50 start of river trekking
10:10 swim through a stream, trek to a hidden canyon

12:00 Lunch (hot pot noodles)
13:00 cliff jumping, rafting safety explain
14:20 depending on the situation either hike or raft down the mountain
16:10 Arrival at starting point, take group photos, end of the tour

Fees: 2200NTD per person including hot pot noodles for lunch, 2 000 000NTD accident insurance+200 000NTD medical insurance, professional guides, full river trekking equipment (helmets, life jackets, safety harnesses, carabiners, river trekking shoes, river trekking wetsuits, gloves). There can be a price reduction above 10 participants. These fees exclude transportations, we kindly ask you to arrange the transport to the meet-up spot by yourself, but in case of any difficulties or problems, feel free to contact us by phone or mail

Notes:

1. If have or had a worth mentioning medical history (such as dizziness; arthritis; heart defect/disease; pregnancy or have recently given childbirth; high blood pressure; surgery; diabetes; other medical conditions, e.g. asthma, allergies), make sure to inform us, we will give appropriate recommendations and make the needed arrangements, if there is no given information, we will not take any legal responsibility.
2. In case of a significant weather change (typhoons, heavy rain) or any other unexpected situations (traffic, earthquakes) before the departure, the tour will be cancelled and postponed to ensure the safety of the group.

3. Please give us the information about your foot length (cm), height and weight, so we can provide you with river trekking shoes according to the size.

4. We advice you to bring comfortable walking shoes, which can be quickly exchanged with our river trekking shoes.

5. If you wish to take any personal items on the river trek, be sure to have them stored in a water-proof bag or wrapped in multiple layers of plastic bags, which can be once again put in a water-proof bag provided by us (3-5 persons share 1 bag). Electronics (smartphones, tablets, etc.) are not recommended to bring on the trek.

6. It is not recommended to wear contact lenses on the tour, we advise you to wear glasses with an eyewear strap in order to prevent your eyewear to be washed away, which has already occurred several times in the past.

7. Kindly bring a set of clothes and a towel which can be left in the car during the trek.

8. If your camera is not waterproof, we advise you not to bring it to the tour. Instead, our team will also take pictures and upload them on a Dropbox which is accessible to all members of the group for download.

9. Due to environmental and safety reasons, the maximum number of people in one river trekking group is 20, 1 guide supervises 5 participants.

10. If you do not follow the instructions given by your guide, do not expect our team to take any responsibility for your actions.

11. Make sure to trim your finger and toe nails before the trek.
